Adani Green Energy Sri Lanka Limited has informed Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Energy that it is willing to proceed in accordance with the previously granted approvals for the 484 MW Wind Renewable Generation Project, provided they align with the Sri Lankan Government’s requirements.
The company emphasized its dedicated efforts in developing the 484 MW Wind Renewable Generation Project, along with the necessary transmission infrastructure, including proposed new 220 KV and 400 KV transmission networks. However, after more than two years of negotiations, the project’s renewable energy tariff had yet to receive government approval.
Adani Green Energy Sri Lanka Limited stated that while it had patiently awaited formal government decisions, the absence of official communication ultimately led to its decision to withdraw from the project.
Nonetheless, the company reaffirmed its commitment to executing renewable energy and transmission projects as approved by the Government of Sri Lanka.
Adani Green Energy Sri Lanka Limited also reiterated its readiness to collaborate on this or any future development opportunity that benefits both Sri Lanka and the company.
